FOWS, “Friends of Wootton School” is the Wootton St. Peter’s Primary School PTA charity, run by parents and teachers, to raise money to benefit all the children within the school.
We organise a series of events throughout the year that not only are fun for the children but help raise funds to enable the school to put on activities that enrich the curriculum and learning, which they otherwise wouldn’t be able to do within the current government funding.We also take donations of pre-loved school uniform, which are then made available to any families with the school.
What types of activities do we do?
- Themed discos, with tuck shops
- Christmas fayre with raffle, tombola, tea shop, games & gift stalls
- Easter themed tea shop and games
- May Fayre with tombola, tea shop, games & gift stalls
- After school tea shops
- Ice-pop shops in the hot weather
- Pre-loved uniform collections and distribution
What types of things do we fund?
- Termly classroom grants for each class so that teachers can buy extra resources to enhance lessons
- Christmas entertainment such as Panto or Circus Workshop
- New music equipment
- Resources for art week
- Resources for Science week
- Enhancements to the school library
- Visiting classroom speakers
How can I get involved?
We welcome anyone connected with the school community – parents, teachers, grandparents, carers, friends – to join us either on a regular or ad hoc basis. We always welcome fresh ideas and input.
We can’t run activities without volunteers, so if you are able to help us run a teashop or stall at an event, bake cakes for the teashop, help with set-up of clearing up and/or help sharing events on social media please do get in touch.
