It is my great pleasure to welcome you to Wootton St Peter’s Church of England Primary School.
Hidden away in beautiful countryside between Abingdon and Oxford, our school is a small but vibrant community where every child is known, valued and inspired to thrive. Whether joining us from our local village or from further afield, each pupil becomes part of our extended school family, supported to grow both academically and personally.
Our Christian vision – “Our children become the rocks upon which a better world can be built” – shapes everything we do. We live out the values of perseverance, compassion and courage, encouraging children to embrace challenges, show kindness and aspire to make a positive difference in the world.
Ofsted has consistently recognised our high standards, most recently in January 2025 when inspectors described Wootton St Peter’s as “a happy school where all pupils achieve well”. They praised our strong sense of community, ambitious curriculum and the respectful relationships between pupils and staff.
We are proud to offer a rich and varied education. Alongside core subjects, our pupils enjoy creative arts, sport, outdoor learning and opportunities to explore the wider world. Our nursery, breakfast club and after-school care provide a supportive wraparound service for busy families.
At the heart of our success is a caring ethos. We believe in celebrating achievement in all its forms – from academic milestones to acts of kindness. Our Democratic Circle Time gives every child a voice, helping them learn that they can make a difference to their school and community.
We also place great importance on personal development, fostering independence, resilience, and respect for others. Through Collective Worship, service projects and inclusive teaching, we prepare our pupils to be thoughtful, responsible citizens.
I warmly invite you to visit us. Come and see our enthusiastic learners, dedicated staff and the joyful atmosphere that makes Wootton St Peter’s such a special place. I am confident you will feel, as I do every day, the warmth, pride and ambition that define our school.
