Our Learning Environment
We engage in a variety of exciting learning including hands on practical activities and sessions in our outdoor learning area and the Year Ones start to engage in a more formal approach to learning as the year progresses,
Oracy
We are committed to building children’s oracy skills and children are encouraged to share their ideas in whole class discussions and with a learning partner on the carpet before moving onto their independent or group task.
Reading & Writing
Early reading and writing is a key focus for Robin Class children and we use the RWI Phonics programme to help children become confident readers and writers.
Mathematics
In maths we follow the White Rose maths scheme and the NCETM The Mastering Number Programme. Children engage in practical activities to secure understanding.
Experiences
We have exciting termly topics planned for the children, which will help them have a good understanding of our world, together with lots of enrichment activities to enhance the children’s learning.
