Governors
Wootton St Peter’s School is extremely fortunate to have a strong and effective Governing Body. It has representatives from the County Council, teaching staff, support staff, parents, the Parochial Church Council and the Diocese.
The role and legal responsibility of the Governing Body is to promote and develop Wootton School. The Head Teacher manages the day-to-day operations of the school. Governors meet regularly as a whole group and in sub-committees to work on areas such as finance, buildings, staffing, curriculum and marketing. They view their role as one of partnership with parents and teachers.
The Ofsted Inspector (2009) wrote:
Central to the school's growing success is the effective partnership between the headteacher and governors, so that together, leaders provide a clear direction to the work of the school. Consequently, there is a strong sense of shared purpose among staff and a clear resolve to do their best for their pupils.
